ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Representing Aspinwall as a delegate to CONNECT, McLaughlin spearheaded the LEAD program supporting the borough’s police department and providing residents in crisis with assistance.
During McLaughlin’s tenure on Council, Aspinwall has invested more than $4 million in safety and infrastructure upgrades with over $3 million of those dollars coming from federal and state grants. That included the Eastern, Western, and Center Avenue sewer separation projects, Alley A upgrades, and the safe walkway at Waterworks that is used by many of Aspinwall’s residents.
McLaughlin was instrumental in helping bring the Freeport Road Safety Study to life and fostering the development of Aspinwall’s first comprehensive plan in 50 Years.
McLaughlin remains at the forefront of the SAVES merger between the volunteer fire departments of Aspinwall and Sharpsburg, an initiative that addresses both the fiscal concerns and community safety interests of local residents.
Over the years, McLaughlin has also served as President of The District Association, President of the Aspinwall Chamber, and is a founding Board member of Aspinwall River Trail Park.
McLaughlin will continue with his pattern of responsiveness, attentiveness to residents emails, calls, texts, and messages. He may not have an immediate answer, but he will gladly field your questions, concerns and relay them to the appropriate people.
